Hotel Van der Valk

Transformation of the Business Centre at the Hotel Van Der Valk, Antwerpen

The newly designed Business Center at The Van Der Valk Hotel in Antwerp has been transformed, top to bottom, using moss and cork to create a striking natural centerpiece that’s bathed in light from the glass roof. The central (bridging) section of the building is covered on both sides ensuring the effect is apparent wherever one might enter the building.

Tech Specs:

  • Cork (Tree bark) paneling from the floor up to 2m.
  • Natural (reindeer, flat and bol moss) from 2m reaching to the apex.
  • Recycled plastic plants within the apex. (Proximity to the glass could amplify the corrosive effect or prolonged exposure to sunlight and heat on natural elements).
